Kristin Carbin
Comms & Marketing Committee Co-Lead
Kristin is currently serving her third year as a Community Health Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda. During her first two years she worked with Omni Med to strengthen the capacity of 500+ community health workers. Recently, she has taken on the role of Community Health Advisor with Medical Teams International (MTI). In Uganda, MTI focuses on improving the well-being of refugees and local communities by providing access to healthcare and supporting emergency response efforts. Her interest in global health stemmed from her involvement with PHBB at the University of Maryland. After joining the organization her sophomore year, she quickly changed her major to Public Health Science and became Co-Project Leader of the Sierra Leone team as she watched PHBB turn into an NGO. Today, Kristin acts a member of the Board of Directors in hopes to assist in its further expansion, helping more students realize their passion for the field of global health and expanding their impact in partner communities.
