Dr. Graciela Jaschek

Dr. Graciela Jaschek completed her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Maryland College Park. She completed an MPH at Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Molecular Ecology at the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
Dr. Jaschek has an extensive history of 25 years working as a health planner, community and labor organizer, director of community programs, program developer, and research assistant in Latino and African/African American communities in Maryland. For three years, she was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at University of Maryland College Park. In that position, she conducted research on the effects of child maltreatment and depressive symptoms among Puerto Rican young adolescents.
Dr. Jaschek has a keen interest and experience in global studies and working with students in international settings. She recently returned from Peru where she and students at the University of Maryland participated in Public Health Without Borders. Given her extensive practice background in public health and research interests, Dr. Jaschek teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in epidemiology and international health at Temple.
